Wha???

YDG'ers, I post with heavy heart. What was that AI performance?? After sitting through 1h 45 min of that crapfest, and having to listen to the Top 12 losers butcher his songs, FINALLY Geo appears.

Oh wait, I thought it was supposed to be Geo, but instead, Robert Evans appeared.

I, for one, was stunned. The entire day I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa only to wake up on Christmas morning with a kick to the stomach.

I mean, Praying For Time is a great song, I love it. Was this what we waited for?? NO! Don't get me started on the weird B-roll sunset screened in the background. WTF?

Kitty thinks it was all poor lighting and a malfunctioning monitor.

I still can't get over those glasses! He looks like he should be on Coffee Talk.

If you can stand it, performing Faith, Father Figure, and Freedom, your Top 12 losers (except for Michael Johns, love him!)

Discuss.

Dude, the pic of Robert Evans is priceless! I LOVE it. George really did look like Robert Evans last night -- it was so weird. I would totally cast George as Bob in the fictional version of The Kid Stays in the Picture.

You know I love GEO, but guys his age should NOT wear retro glasses. Jen and I were too busy throwing up to hear, but Tony informed me that George told Seacrest that he had a cold right after the performance. That would explain the jaundiced look and the decent, but not totally spectacular vocals. There was clearly a problem on his monitor -- George kept looking down and gesturing to his ear. Those Idol producer fuckers totally effed up his performance! And the lighting guy was clearly the same guy who lit Larry Craig's mug shot. I mean COME ON!!!!

The whole show was so bad -- I don't even know where to begin. The production was so bad -- the sound levels were so effed up. I could not believe it.

Let's talk about the other "stars" on the show -- ZZ Top, Graham Nash, Seal, Donna Summer. What a bunch of losers! Seal? He should stick to Seal on Ice (and if you don't believe that, check it out on You Tube) They were all so bad! I was like wretching having to watch it.

And those top 12 -- Jesus they suck. That Joplin chick is the WORST contestant in the history of Idol. Love Michael Johns, but he is one white ass dude. And what's up with him always wearing those pointy shoes? It's like he should have bells on the tips of them like a court jester. So weird.

And how bad was Jordin Sparks? Was her dad in that dress with her? Good God! That dress was like 50s housewife, Barbarella, and cheap knock off hand bag all in one. She is such a hideous, hideous performer.

Carrie Underwood -- roller derby Stevie Nicks dress. So weird. She's cute and all, but that dress defied comprehension.

The top 12 Brady Bunch medley of George Michael songs was too much, though. Hideous. Hideous. There are no words. How totally ironic that they were singing Freedom 90 -- this whole show is exactly the kind of bullshit he's singing about in the song. And there they were Brady Bunching it up. They sure did fit the jacket.

And for George to have to come out and perform after an hour and 45 minutes of this crap? I felt so badly for him. He is SO much better than everyone else there -- they must have paid him at least $1 mil to be on the show. At least.

All in all, I felt like I had finally lost touch with Idol. I didn't get it at all.

I love George. He did the best he could under the circumstances -- shitty production, shitty performers, a cold. God love him. What a pro -- I would have pulled out after watching Graham Nash.

The show this summer will have the perfect lighting, perfect sound and our Greek got ready to entertain the way we know he can.

I thought Praying for Time was a bold choice, and I thought he sang it passionately. It was great to finally see some talent on that stage. though I do think he couldve done something more upbeat and brought the house down, thereby ginning up major excitement for the 25 Live tour.

As for the LOOK: was it me or did george actually look old and pale?? kitty youre right, jaundiced is the perfect way to describe it, so unlike the posts on YDG, where he looks so vibrant and happy.

Obviously, George was self-aware, evidenced by what he said at the end about having a cold. something was indeed wrong last night.
