Today’s installment of YDG chronicles a special event, the Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert. Of all the performances, George’s rendition of Somebody to Love was by far the best. Watch how he has the crowd in the palm of his hand, particularly at the end. I get chills every time. And he sings it absolutely brilliantly (not many can handle Freddie songs). It is my opinion that when Queen decided to tour again, there was only one choice. This clip represents a pop star at the very top of his game. Enjoy!

Wow! This is fantastic. Gives me the chills it's so brilliant. This was back when AIDS was AIDS. This concert had so much emotional significance with the recent loss of Freddy Mercury. In 1992, George was at the top of his game and so was AIDS. And I'm happy to say George has fared far better in the last 15 years and has sold way more albums.
Doesn't this just put other performers into perspective? He doesn't miss a note here! And such a high level of difficulty with this song. Amazing.
And Greg, I don't believe the clip shows the crowd LITERALLY in the palm of this hand. I'm pretty sure fitting a soccer stadium of people into the palm of one's hand is beyond possibility. Even if it is the palm of a god.
