This is one of my all time favorite George songs -- Knew You Were Waiting (for Me) with Ms. Aretha Franklin. With this song, George confirmed what we already knew: That he is one of the great white soul singers of all time and with this video, that he is in fact gay. Please note the footage of Sonny and Cher and Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell in the background. Somehow, whenever George and Aretha are lip syncing to each other, a giant Cher head is in between them. Kind of amazing. A great song and George is totally hot in it. One of those maniacally positive pop songs that keeps you going in life.

You know, I woke up this morning a bit stressed, but this video washed it away – what positivity!!! I agree with Katherine, there is confirmation all over this video of things that true George fans all ready knew. And if I may say so myself, George did the impossible in this video: he “out-queened” the Queen.
Pay special attention to 1:58 of the video, a back shot of Geo with his hands up swaying back and forth. Magic.
I’ve never done karaoke before, but someday Katherine and I will do a duet of this gem – and post it on youtube, of course.
